Summary

He is constantly tormented by the memories of his mother and the only thing that binds him to her is a small, mysteriously captivating painting, which ultimately pulls him into the underworld of arts. The protagonist finds himself easily moving between the dusty antique stores and the drawing rooms of the rich and opulent. Theo finds himself alone and much in love, and at the center of a dangerous circle. The Goldfinch is a great read with amazing narration, stunning characterization, mesmerizing language, and chilling suspense. It is an old-fashioned, beautiful story of triumph, loss, self-invention, love, obsession, and fate.
